Answers
What is the operating voltage range of devices?
Devices typically operate in the 9V – 90V DC range.
Back to Questions
What security features are built into the devices?
Devices use TLS 1.2/SSL encryption, secure APNs, mechanical tamper protection, and real-time anti-theft alerts.
Back to Questions
Are digital and Analog inputs supported?
Yes, various devices have multiplexed digital and analog input/output ports, protected against ESD and over-voltage.
Back to Questions
Do Transight devices support RS485/RS232 for external sensors like fuel sensors?
Yes. Devices such as the Discovery 4G, Compass 4G, and others come with RS485/RS232 interfaces for seamless integration with external sensors like Italon Fuel Level Sensors.
Back to Questions
Can the device be integrated with third-party platforms?
Yes. The device communicates via standard protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP, SMS) and can be integrated with third-party telematics or fleet management platforms using compatible APIs or device protocols.
Back to Questions
Can the device store data when offline?
Yes, it has onboard memory to store up to 40,000 positional logs and uploads them once network connectivity is restored.
Back to Questions
How many IPs can the device communicate with?
It supports dual IP configuration, allowing simultaneous communication with two servers for redundancy or dual-platform reporting
Back to Questions
Where should I install the device in the vehicle?
It should be mounted:
• On a flat, level surface
• Away from vibration and heat
• With proper orientation aligned to the vehicle’s axes
Ideal placements include:
• Under the dashboard
• Inside the glove compartment
Back to Questions
What happens if no GPS fix is acquired?
If the device doesn't acquire a GPS fix while another unit does at the same location, ensure proper device placement and antenna orientation. Persistent failure may indicate a hardware issue.
Back to Questions
What is the proper way to connect ignition and ground wires?
• Ignition Wire: Must be connected to a true ignition line (not ACC).
• Ground Wire: Connect securely to a metal surface or vehicle frame, ensuring no paint interferes with the connection.
Back to Questions
Why my device is not sending data to server?
If you have verified your APN and server settings but your device is still not sending data, please refer to our guide for the next steps to troubleshoot the issue.
1. Check with SMS
Basic troubleshooting using sms commands like
GET CUNWI (find network information)
GET CUENIP (whether the servers enabled or not)
SET CUMR:2 (Restart the device)

How do I send SMS command to Transight telematics device?
We have two types of SIM cards: Open SIMs and M2M SIMs. Open SIMs do not require whitelisting of any numbers or servers. However In the case of M2M SIMs, it is necessary to whitelist both the server to which data is sent and the mobile number used for sending and receiving messages.
