How to insert Micro-SIM card

  • Remove the cover: Gently push the top and bottom cases of the Discovery 4G apart with both hands to open the device.
  • Insert Micro-SIM: Place the Micro-SIM card into the SIM holder, ensuring the cut-off corner faces away from the slot.
  • Reattach the cover: Securely attach the device cover back into place.
  • Your device is now ready for connection.

For optimal performance and to prevent damage, always ensure the device is fully powered off—with both external power and the internal battery disconnected—before inserting or removing the Micro-SIM card. Failure to do so could result in a damaged Micro-SIM card or the device failing to detect it.
Internal Battery Disconnection Procedure To disconnect the internal battery, remove the device enclosure carefully and separate the PCB from the casing. The internal battery is connected to the PCB using a 2-pin connector. Gently unplug the connector from the port. After inserting or replacing the SIM card, reconnect the 2-pin connector securely before reassembling the enclosure.

Quick SMS Configuration

After powering up the device, verify that the LED indicators display the correct status. Discovery LED Status Quickly set up the device by sending the required SMS commands from the SMS Configuration page.
SMS Configuration, Blutooth Configuration Application
Once SMS configuration is completed successfully, configure the device to the server using the appropriate commands Commands of Discovery 4G. After configuration, the Discovery device will synchronize its time and begin sending records to the configured server. The reporting intervals and default I/O elements can be modified using commands sent through the server, SMS, or the BLE configurator Mobile App.

Mounting Recommendations

Connecting Wires

  • Ensure the device is not powered or plugged in when connecting wires.
  • Fasten all wires to stable, non-moving parts to avoid damage from vibration or mechanical movement.
  • Keep wires away from heat sources and components with moving parts.
  • No wire should remain exposed. If factory insulation was removed during installation, apply proper insulation afterward.
  • For wires routed in areas exposed to heat, moisture, dirt, or external conditions, apply additional protective insulation and ensure they are firmly secured.
  • Do not connect the wires directly to vehicle control units or onboard computers.

Connecting Power Source

  • After the vehicle’s computer enters sleep mode, power may still remain on certain power lines. This delay varies by vehicle and may take 5 to 30 minutes.
  • After connecting the module, measure the voltage again to ensure it remains stable.
  • It is recommended to connect the device to the main power supply line inside the fuse box. Device is protected using an internal Self resettable fuse 3A, 100V

Connecting Ignition Wire

  • Verify that the selected line is a true ignition wire, meaning power remains present after the engine starts.
  • Ensure the wire is not an ACC (accessory) line, which only has power in the key’s first position.
  • Check that power remains available when turning off any individual vehicle devices.
  • The ignition wire should be connected to the ignition relay output, or alternatively to any relay that provides output only when the ignition is ON.

Connecting Ground Wire

  • Connect the ground wire to the vehicle chassis or metal parts firmly attached to the frame.
  • If the wire is secured using a bolt, attach a ring/loop terminal to the wire end.
  • For the best electrical contact, remove paint from the mounting spot before securing the loop terminal.

Precautions

Do not disassemble the device. If the device is damaged, the power supply cables are not isolated or the isolation is damaged, DO NOT touch the device before unplugging the power supply.
All wireless data transferring devices produce interference that may affect other devices which are placed nearby.
The device must be connected only by qualified personnel.
The device must be firmly fastened in a predefined location.
The programming must be performed using a PC with autonomic power supply.
The device is susceptible to water and humidity.
Installation and/or handling during a lightning storm is prohibited.
